If you have issues logging in to Barclays Personal or Business accounts on a desktop, use this guide.

Before starting

To log in, you need your surname and one of the following:

• Membership number
• Card number
• Sort code and account number

To confirm your identity, you also need one of the following:

• PINsentry (temporary password from the Barclays app or card reader)
• Memorable word and passcode

The DirectID Widget supports both methods. The Barclays website has an overview of PINsentry.

Preparing PINsentry

Showing PINsentry codes with the app

1. Open the Barclays app on your phone.
2. Tap PINsentry at the top left.
3. Tap the option you need.
4. Type in your 5-digit Barclays Mobile Banking passcode.
5. The app shows the 8-digit PINsentry code. The countdown shows the validity time.

Use a code from the app to log in with DirectID below. The Barclays website has a video on mobile PINsentry.

Setting up memorable word and passcode

To set up a memorable word a passcode for the first time, see the Barclays website.

Changing memorable word and passcode

To update your memorable word and passcode, do the following:

1. Log in to Barclays Online Banking with PINsentry.
2. Click on the drop-down menu under your name.
3. In the section headed My details, click Change passcode and memorable word.
4. Change your passcode and set your memorable word.
5. Enter your details and save.

Testing memorable word and passcode

If you have changed or set up login details, we recommend you do the following:

1. Log out of Barclays Online Banking.
2. Use your memorable word and passcode to log in.
3. Log out again.

This confirms that your details work before you use DirectID.

Logging in with DirectID

Once you have your details ready, you can log in.

1. Select or search for Barclays.
2. Select Personal or Business and the correct account option below.
3. Consent to share your financial information.
4. Click Confirm. The page redirects to the bank login screen.
5. Click Membership number, Card number or Sort code and account number.
   If you use the sort code and account number option, the page prompts you for your date of birth.
6. Enter your details and click Continue.
7. Confirm your identity using PINsentry or your memorable word and passcode as below.

Using PINsentry

To use PINsentry, do the following:

1. Leave Passcode and Memorable word blank.
2. Continue to the next stage. The Widget asks if you are using Card PINSentry.
3. Answer 'Y' to use a card reader. Answer 'N' to use the mobile app.
4. Enter the 8-digit code displayed on the card reader or app.
5. Once you log in, confirm which accounts you wish to share.

Using memorable word and passcode

To use your memorable word and passcode, do the following:

1. Enter your password and memorable word as normal.
2. Once you log in, confirm which accounts you wish to share.
