LEGACY - Why does a bank login have 'New' in the title?

A User will occasionally be presented with two similar options for logging into his or her bank. Often this is because the institution has built a new website or login flow for users and intends to migrate existing account holders across in stages. This means that both options need to remain available but may create some confusion over which bank name should be selected.  

If a User has a bank that presents two options (one of which has 'new’ in the title), he or she will need to know the login URL that they usually go to or, in some cases, when they opened their account.

Here are some recent examples:-

BARCLAYCARD

Select: Barclaycard (Business) New (UK) - Credit Card

Select: Barclaycard (Business) (UK) - Credit Card 


FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF OMAHA

Select: new First National Bank of Omaha - Credit Card 

Select: First National Bank of Omaha - Credit Card

 

NATWEST CREDIT CARDS


Select: Natwest - Credit Cards (New Login) (UK)

Select: NatWest Bank (UK) - Credit Card 

  • If your usual login website is https://www.nwolb.com/, this login URL will actually appear             longer because it adds a time stamped token when the site loads – for example it may look  like https://www.nw

STANDARD BANK CREDIT CARD

Select: Standard Bank - New (South Africa) - Credit Card  

Select: Standard Bank (South Africa) - Credit Card
